GLBT Democrats of Long Island 

This is the official website for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Democrats of Long Island, formerly GLBT Democrats of Suffolk County, formerly Gay Democrats of Suffolk County.. Our Suffolk County Chapter exist as a charter from the Suffolk County Democratic Committee - the Honorable Richard H. Schaffer Chair, and as such we act as a liaison between our community and the Democratic Party in Suffolk County. At our March 27, 2012 meeting we voted unanimously to expand into Nassau County to help elect pro GLBT issues Democrats into office.   

We are a local chapter of The National Stonewall Democrats

  This group is dedicated to carrying out the ideals and significant agenda for equality, equity and tolerance towards all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and allianced community members within Nassau and Suffolk County, New York.                             

We interview and endorse Democratic Candidates who hold our agenda seriously.

    We empower our members to address and educate the surrounding community and the Democratic Party about GLBT issues and the need for justice and equitable standards for our society.

Membership is open to any registered Democrat in Nassau or Suffolk County who supports the goals and principles of the group. There is a $40 annual membership fee.
